This fully resourced Edexcel IGCSE History lesson on Wolsey’s foreign policy explores how effectively he acted as a “peacemaker in Europe” between 1515–1529. Based on the demands of the Edexcel IGCSE Tudor History course and written by a History examiner, the lesson helps students master the key events, aims, and challenges shaping England’s role in European diplomacy.
Students analyse the Treaty of London, the Field of the Cloth of Gold, England’s rivalry with France and the Habsburgs, and the wider European balance of power. Structured literacy tasks guide students through keyword explanations, appositives, connective sentences, and foreign policy annotation. They also complete exam-style activities such as Describe one feature questions and a model 16-mark essay with DISNE annotation.
