The R.M.S Titanic Case Study

The story of the titanic is widely known. This resource has been designed to provide the teacher with an opportunity to discuss the disaster in a setting of an Engineering or Metalwork class.

The text could be used to assist in opening up a discussion around steel quality, manufacturing and joining techniques.

The resources contained within this resource have been designed for use in the classroom to assist in presenting meaningful activities in the subject of Metalwork or Metal engineering. They have been formatted to allow for quick printing of individual lessons for emergency cover lessons when practical work cannot be completed due to teacher absence, unexpected unavailability of the workshop etc.

Each worksheet has been formatted to allow for students to write their name and the date the lesson was given.

The activities include within this resource are for students studying examples of great engineering feats. This activity specifically looks at The R.M.S Titanic, and includes a set of questions relating to the text. The case study include a find-a-word which could be provided to students after completion of the main activity and includes a Life Skills version of the Find-A-Word activity.
