This is an outstanding lesson, goes into a very structured detail about how to approach and write the Biology Essay for AQA paper 3.
-The lesson begins with a mini-test on some knowledge of proteins they will need later in the lesson
-It goes through the examiner mark scheme, explainig each band and which parts student perform poorly on
-I then male my own student friendly mark scheme, which is split up in AO1 and A02.
-There is an extract students need to use in a task to help them use the mark scheme.
-There is then a scaffolded broken down task to help students plan each of thier 4 paragraphs needed for the essay.
I have refined this lesson over the years and have been told by head of teaching and learning that it’s the best lesson they’ve seen.
