Ideal for English work with higher KS2 or KS3 pupils, this worksheet provides sufficient material to prepare at least one whole lesson on character status, with follow-up / extension material included. Created by an experienced prep school Head of English, this lesson explores Dickens' use of 'show not tell' to indicate character status in the opening chapter of A Christmas Carol, challenges the children (with prompts and examples) to further consider character status, and then asks the pupils to create their own short sections of writing including character status.
