Interactive Flask, Graphing & Rate of Change Tool — No Install, No Login, Fully Offline

FlaxoLab is an interactive visual mathematics tool designed to help students understand the relationship between the shape of a container and its depth–time graph.

Students can choose from 8 preset flask shapes or create their own custom container directly on screen. Once the flask is created, it can be filled or drained while FlaxoLab generates the corresponding depth against time graph in real time.

Before starting the animation, students can draw their own predicted graph using the built-in graph tools, making the app ideal for prediction, discussion and checking understanding. Freehand, straight-line and point tools are included, together with Undo, Redo and Clear controls.

A dedicated gradient triangle tool allows students to select sections of the graph and display Δy and Δx, helping them calculate and interpret gradient as a rate of change. This provides a strong visual connection between the steepness of a graph and how quickly the water depth is changing.

Students can investigate how different flask shapes affect graph behaviour:
• Narrow sections produce a faster rise in depth
• Wide sections produce a slower rise
• Changing container width creates changing gradients
• Filling and draining allow increasing and decreasing graphs to be compared

Multiple flasks can also be created for comparison, while adjustable fill/drain speed supports demonstration and classroom discussion.

FlaxoLab is particularly useful for teaching graphs, gradient, rate of change, mathematical modelling and interpreting real-world graphs.
