All of the letters have been hand-written to demonstrate that they are achievable by hand, making them more realistic to children and their goals feel easier to attain.

It has been designed to focus on learning the relative sizes of the letters to ensure children have the correct formation. The space between each line is divided into 3 to guide letter heights of ascenders and descenders using engaging colours.

The three letter heights are represented by animals:
*Giraffes represent our ascenders, reaching up tall.
*Bears represent our half height letters, sitting happily on the line.
*Cats represent the descenders, siting on the line with their tails hanging below.

Each page has a step-by-step guide on how to form the lower case letters; capital and lower case letters to trace alongside space to practice them alone; and a word using only the letters they have so far learnt to put into action the skills they have developed.

The letters are arranged in formation style starting with the most simple, l, followed by i, t, j.

For the letters w, k, m, f and z there are two different pages giving a choice of how to form the lower case letters. As these are hand-written, I am able to adapt the formation styles to suit personal or school preference.
