A brief collection of documents collating information on a series of essential topics which must be understood and applied to more complex analyses by GCSE students. Though these products make reference to the Eduqas Media course, first examined in the Summer 2019, the information is generally industry-relevant and thus applicable to AQA, or any other exam board testing Media at GCSE level.

Topics covered include:

  • Types of broadcasting
  • Active and Passive Audiences
  • Key Terms in relation to the GCSE set products (Eduqas Media GCSE set texts)
  • The basic differences between Left and Right Wing
  • Propp’s Character Theory
  • Mass and Niche Audiences
  • Technology in Newspapers
  • Readings (in relation to Hall’s Reception Theory, contextualised with reference to the Sun case study)

The files range from brief, outlining only the necessary information, to extended and detailed analyses.

Please note that the files are in a raw text format and are relatively text-heavy.
