I always link population to gender and students tend to be very well versed in this these days. This is a complex video for university Sociology, but a lot of it is manageable for year 7 and up if scaffolded well. They get very into this topic from the video, I normally run through it then set it as a homework at the first lesson so we can refer back to gender as we go through the unit on population.
