How we grow KS1/Year 1/Autumn 1 PSHE lesson.
Created with a view to being delivered as the second PSHE lesson of the year, this lesson builds on learning from the previous lesson, This Is Me, and continues to explore Shinsuke Yoshitake’s, *Can I Build Another Me? *
In this lesson, the children will learn about the different ways that we grow and change as we get older. We will discuss key milestones and reflect on the things that we can, and can’t do, and how that will likely change as we grow older.
The lesson includes a memory game starter activity, a sorting task, a story with accompanying questions, a drawing activity linked to the text, and a ‘who am I?’ plenary task.
The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. It is designed to be ‘no prep’, so you can just pick it up and use it, although it is still adaptable should you wish to.

All About Me - Identity PSHE - Year 1
n this Year 1 Health and Wellbeing unit, we will explore who we are. We will learn about our likes and dislikes, how we like to play and learn, and the things we can and can’t do. We will learn how to spot clues that show how someone is feeling and talk about common feelings when happy or sad changes happen. We will also learn simple ways to keep ourselves safe. In future years, we will revisit these ideas and build on what we have learned. Each lesson is fully editable and compliant with DfE and PSHE Association guidelines, ensuring ease of integration into your chosen curriculum. This bundle offers flexibility for educators, providing the option to select individual lessons or mini-units rather than committing to a full scheme. Detailed schemes of work that are aligned to this unit are available in our free planning pack. Explore the detailed content of each lesson by clicking the links below.
