This resource contains three haikus about animals. I sent this home as homework, to introduce the topic of haikus gently!
The pupils were asked to identify the animal in each haiku and to draw a picture of each.
This could be extended further by asking the children to write down what they have noticed about each haiku in terms of its structure and language, and what each one has common.
