Powerpoint showing development of calculators. Unashamedly nerdy, if you can locate any old calculators, slide rules etc as props it gets better. Leads into lesson about efficient use of calculators. I also use a set of trashed calculators with broken buttons and get students to make target numbers.... a great use of those 3 for £1 calculators with rubber buttons that have been previously abused by year 10 on a Friday afternoon.
