This is the second in a series of lessons to help Upper Key Stage 2 pupils develop their use of complex sentences, particularly for story writing. The lesson includes a warm up and teacher modeling to introduce a pattern for using a complex sentence. The other 5 lessons in the series model different patterns learners can follow to use complex sentences in their descriptive writing. After completing the series, learners will have understanding of a range of different complex sentences they can use in their writing. However, each lesson in the series can be used as a stand alone lesson to develop more detailed descriptive writing and use of complex sentences.
