This Excel based combining expressions activity provides KS3 / GCSE students with the opportunity to combine four blue card expressions to make target expressions by collecting like terms . The sheet is differentiated with check boxes to toggle between different levels of complexity. You can show and hide new questions and answers by selecting yellow and green areas. You will need to enable macros on opening. Enjoy :)

This is a great activity where students have to say which expressions combine to make a target expression. You can choose it so that the expressions combine through addition or through multiplication. You could use this as a revision activity on simplifying expressions, students could work in pairs and display their answers on whiteboards, or you could do it in their books. Really nice, thank you for sharing.
