Introducing addition and subtraction of directed numbers using number patterns to complete torture squares and drawing conclusions.
This is an investigative approach where it is hoped that students will find a rule or rules to add and subtract integers. Mixed exercise included and some 'decimal' ones. Should challenge some students, I hope.
May be suitable for some KS4 students and top end of KS2.
Answers are given but please check them as it is easy to make errors!
