Keeping Social Media Social - KS4: Truth, Trust and Twitter

Social media has become a huge part of many of our lives. But do we really know where all that information goes? Scientists at the University of Oxford are investigating how computers could be used to assess online information for trustworthiness. This could be particularly useful to help people interpret information about recent or rapidly changing incidents.
In this activity students explore different factors that might make information more or less trustworthy and create an algorithm or computer program that could be used to display this information.
