Maths Activity linking fractions, percentages and probability work with 18th century England topic or “The Highwayman” narrative poetry unit.
Students take on the role of a highway gang leader going through the process of:
- Selecting Gang Members
- Scouting Robbery Locations
- Buying Special Equipment
- Undertaking the Robbery Itself
Each activity covers areas of decimal, fraction, percentage and probability. Each activity is fully resourced and only requires a 6 sided dice to complete the remainder of the task.
Activities rely on students to explain their thinking and make predictions about what will happen based on their choices.
Hopefully, a fun activity bringing some rather boring elements of maths to life.
