This lesson uses fun tasks to explore animal welfare issues such as animals being used in unnecessary products like foie gras, fur items, shark fin soup and ivory. We gently explore this issue and think of positive ways to help stop cruel practices.

The Happy Orca looks at what is causing these problems through a series of PowerPoint slides and a fun workbook. Engaging tasks and activities such as designing infographic posters, class presentations and drama exercises helps students tackle these environmental issues.

**The course ideally suits upper key stage 2 students. **

There are five subjects in The Happy Orca’s Animal Academy and each lesson can be downloaded individually. It has also been designed to form a complete workbook if all subjects are collected together. Students can then turn the workbooks into their own Animal Academy Journals which they could even personalise with facts, doodles and colours.
