Having taught Macbeth for 5 years, I have re-created an in-depth analysis PPT that focuses on major and minor characters, focusing on Act 1 of the text and how Shakespeare establishes each character.

They are ready to go full lessons with Level 6/grade 9 essay examples, critical essays and essay plans, as well as key quotations picked out with prompting questions. All resources are on the slides so there is no confusion about which worksheet goes where.

The lessons can be taught by teachers with a variety of experience as I have made it as self explanatory as possible. All key scenes are in refined chunks on the slide so you do not necessarily need copies of the play to study these lessons.

There are 60 slides on this PPT and it has been crafted so that you can introduce all the scenes for the first time or it makes an excellent revision tool. It can last as little or as long as you would like it to, but I’d suggest a double lesson for most scenes (there are 7 in Act 1)

My classes have achieved many grade 9s with these ideas so have a go with your year 10s and 11s!

I am in the process of making the same for the other Acts so please give feedback when you purchase!
