This is a unit of work for Shakespeare’s Macbeth to be used with upper KS2 or lower KS3. The concepts and ideas are simplified and it could be accompanied by a graphic novel or cartoon version of the play.

Students build three main skills throughout the unit: informal letter writing, summary writing and newspaper report writing using Macbeth as the medium. Teaches some of the basic plot lines and characters from the play.

Warm Up activities center around Elizabethan grammar and vocabulary.

There are 8 powerpoint lessons in total and an end-of-unit test. Excellent resources as a starting point for developing a unit for your students - can easily be adapted for any difficulty or age group.
