This is a stunning and low-budget maker project to teach students the basics of electronics and circuit design.

I have developed three paper circuit cards with hand-drawn funky designs that include a scaffolding approach so that students will be able to create their own circuit designs from scratch at the end. Just follow the easy written instructions on the card or watch my short “How to-video”. The link to my vimeo video is included in this package.

Start with Card #1 to learn how to do a simple circuit.

Then move on to card #2 to learn how to create a parallel circuit,

Lastly create your own circuit design on card #3.

Video demonstration available

Click the link in this document to watch me in action how I make my card light up! Show it to the whole class as well!!!

Tip!

Embed some literacy into these card! Each card has a dedicated space for writing e.g. about the experience working with electronics, short story about the characters on the card, reflection etc. .The writing ideas are endless!

For best results print each card on white cardstock paper - double-sided.

You need the following materials to make the cards blink:

  • coin cell batteries

  • LED’s

  • copper tape or aluminum tape

  • binder clip

  • Paper circuit cards (that you buy here and print off)

  • scissors
