A very solid account of the context, events, and consequences of the Night of the Long Knives. Covering: 1932 election campaign, Strasser resigns, Brownshirts, Ernst Röhm. Hitler is chancellor, plays the Reichstag – parliament dissolved, Reichstag fire, emergency decree “The Law for Alleviating the Distress of People and Reich”, “activities inimical to the state.” Concentration camps, Gestapo, Nazi infighting, the plot to remove Röhm, the Hanselbauer Hotel, murders, death toll estimated, Röhm executed. Hitler combines the Presidency and the Chancellorship, consequences.

16 questions for the c. 15-minute film (my link omits brief blurbs before and after the substance). Differentiated! Both versions look very similar, but “B” version has subtle clues. Good subtitles: scripted, not auto-generated. Questions right up to the end, no slack time! Creates a great intro / revision / summary resource. Answer sheet. Very easy to mark. .doc & .pdf for all files.

Please check that you can access the video before you download these sheets. All the links work when I upload. If my links no longer work, the videos may still be found elsewhere on YouTube etcetera.
