NB This is the lesson plan only - please download the 'bundle' if you want the resources to go with it.

This Year 6 literacy lesson was awarded the grade of Outstanding by my headteacher and a headteacher from another school who was also observing (and sent her literacy co-ordinator to watch me later that week as she was so impressed!)

The lesson is for children studying Shakespeare (ideally A Midsummer Night's Dream) and moves from introducing the concept of a prologue to the children writing their own prologue based on a detailed model (included as one of the resources in my bundle).

It is differentiated three ways, with the lowest ability children using a writing frame (included in the bundle). The plan includes a range of question types to ask the class at various intervals and a peer-assessment plenary.

Please email me at sam.emanuel@live.co.uk if you have any questions.
Thanks!
