2 x PPTs containing two weeks worth of lessons on Percy Jackson using Chapters 5-11 and a printed resources to accompany most lessons.

We used these for a low Year 6 cohort in Autumn who needed lots of recapping of tense consistency and sentence structure. Grammar PPTS were used to accompany as lessson starts (mainly from Twinkl and not included). Each lesson includes comprehension /discussion for each chapter, simple introductory slides, WAGOLLS and steps to success.

Week 1
L1 - Role on the wall of Percy’s character
L2 - Chapter 5 - Description of Mr D (ambitious vocabulary planning & WAGOLL included)
L3 - Chapter 6 - Description of Camp Half-Blood using parenthesis
L4 - Chapter 7 - Writing in consistent tense. Includes resource with errors for children to edit and improve.
L5 - Chapter 8 - Writing about the game of Capture the Flag from the viewpoint of Clarisse and Annabeth

Week 2
L1 - Chapter 9 - Identify features of a newspaper report (extract from book)
L2 - Chapter 10 - Punctuating direct speech
L3 - Chapter 11 - Writing an opening paragraph for a newspaper report using chosen event from the text
L4 - Chapter 12 - Shared writing of main body of newspaper report
L5 - Chapter 13 - Planning format to plan own newspaper article of Percy jumping from the Gateway Arch

We then used week 3 to write our own newspaper reports. Hope it is of use to someone!
