Ideal for all GCSE pupils, studying English Literature (Macbeth), this planning sheet provides pupils with a realistic exam question alongside a step-by-step of how to plan their analytical answers. Each step is numbered 1-8 and helps pupils develop their argument, embed evidence, explain their evidence and write a clearly broken down analysis of keywords before exploring the stereotypes in the Jacobean era and Shakespeare's intended message.

For lower classes, following the step-by-step gives pupils a clear platform as to how they can develop their ideas clearly. Meanwhile, higher classes will be able to use this step-by-step as a starting point as they may change the order of the steps but include all relevant information (e.g. they may state their argument --> explore Shakespeare's intentions ---> then include evidence.

This can be used in lesson as a part of a scaffold, revision and homework.
