This document is a condensed version of all my notes for Poetry Through Time and is directed towards the AQA A Level English Literature Love Through the Ages Specification, particularly Section B which requires an answer for a comparison of two unseen poems. This document gives an overview of the different poetic movements from medieval poets up to post-modernist poets. It is broken down by movement and then divided into key poets names, key features and techniques of the movement and key pieces of historical context. This will help with general historical context that is required for the answer and will help guide comments on typicality and general analysis.
I was able to achieve an A* in my English Lit A Level on the 2019 exam so I hope these resources will help others too :)
