Let’s see how great decoding “spys” your students will be by reading the unique names of all 48 Pokemon characters in this PDF. I have used this activity to teach children how to read multisyllabic words, train consonant blends, digraphs, decode common rimes, middle and ending /er/ and more! Helpful forspeech therapy students, dyslexia, struggling readers or children that are visual learners.

This is a great activity for virtual sessions with the theme of Pokemon.

Tip: Make it a Pokemon day! Read this PDF and transition with fun Pokemon YouTube videos (there are many!) Have your student write some of the names that they see, and practice decoding and reading aloud their unique names. End the class by sharing Pokeballs, Pokemon stuffed toys and/or merchandise that the student may have. Fun Times with Pokemon and the gang!

Enjoy!
