Raise the Bar – Key Stage 3 Tutor Time Resource
A ready-to-use Year 8 tutor time resource designed to help students make a positive start to the new academic year by focusing on standards, expectations, personal responsibility and positive choices.
The session, “Raise the Bar”, encourages students to think about the kind of student they want to become and the standards they want to set for themselves.
What’s Included?
What Does Good Look Like? – Students identify the qualities, attitudes and behaviours they would like to be known for.
Standards Barometer – Students explore realistic scenarios and discuss what high standards look like in everyday school life.
The KS3 Challenge – Students work collaboratively to identify five key standards they believe every Year 8 student should aim to meet.
My KS3 Promise – Students reflect on one standard they want to raise and identify one positive change they will make this year.
