The writer can shape a reader’s point of view, or perspective, by engaging them in the story and allowing the reader to sympathize with characters. This writing task is constructed so students rewrite a scenario in three different ways , thus learning about differing perspectives and how this can influence a reader. Students are presented with the scenario and a page of background information on Reader Positioning - allowing teachers to lead them into the task.
Developed for Stage 4 - Years 7 and 8 - But could also be very useful for Year 9.
A good activity prior to creative writing.
