A fun way to revise Macbeth. A who dunnit like no other.
Make Macbeth a crime scene. We Know who Killed King Duncan but why?
Firstly make your crime scene. Have an outline drawn on the floor and add props of daggers/crown etc. Then set up some tables with ‘evidence’ that points to characters in the play such as a map of Scottish castles, a Norway flag, three witches hats, a scorpion, a rose, chickens. Give the students an incident report form and ask them to find the evidence that backs up their theory of why Duncan was killed.
Then on other tables lay out the cards.
Table 1.
First set are like traditional Cluedo cards in the fact that they need to match the character to the place and item. eg, Lady Macbeth, Bed Chamber, Hands. There are some other questions they could answer to go with each character too.
Table 2.
Match the quotes to the correct character.
Table 3.
Jigsaws to complete. Linked to the plot.
Table 4.
Complete the word challenge. This is linked to context/history.
Table 5.
A few hand help devises if you have them or on computers. Upload from ‘Word wall Themes’ activities.
