lesson from the space topic on the relationship between weight, mass and gravity.
The lesson starts with a 'hook' video asking why people can walk on the moon and why they walk differently on the moon.
The definitions of gravitational fields is clarified and pupils look how gravity is reduced as distance increases.
The pupils learn the weight, mass and gravity formula triangle and do a progress check on these with additional extension work on rearranging the formula. The main body of the lesson then involves a circus activity, where pupils do a scavenger hunt of visiting different planets, obtaining the gravitational field strengths there and then calculating their wight on different planets.
There is a progress check and then a choice plenary. All printing included. Should be a download and teach lesson.
