NOTE: these resources are also on sale as part of my resource package 'AQA GCSE Additional Science B2.1 - Cells scheme of work' (so if you have that, then you already have these).

A presentation on specialised cells and how they are adapted to their functions. Slides consist largely of titled images - diagrams and photos - while the accompanying notes for teachers give information about each cell type. Includes muscle, ciliated, xylem, red blood, root hair, sperm, palisade, nerve and rod cells. Designed with KS4 in mind, but could also be used at KS3.

Notes for teachers are included with most slides, giving core ideas (adaptations and how they help the cell perform its function), along with numerous other interesting facts.

Students can fill in the illustrated worksheet to describe cell adaptations and their functions. A 'support' version of the worksheet sets structured tasks rather than free writing. The worksheets focus on the first five of the cell types listed above.
