These farm animals phonics clip cards focus on the Long A vowel teams AI and AY. This interactive spring phonics center provides a fun and effective way to conduct vowel team review and practice long A spelling patterns. This farm animal activity requires students to look at the picture and pick the correct spelling of the Long A word, either spelt with the long vowel digraphs AI or AY. Perfect for first & second grade phonics.

25 clip cards are included within this resource for long A spelling patterns. All clip cards are provided in both color and black & white printing options.

Please see the PREVIEW above to see a sample of the included cards.

25 x Pick the Long A Spelling clip cards in black & white (4 per page - 7 pages total)

HOW TO USE

Print either the color or black & white version of the clip cards, and cut along the lines to separate the 4 cards on each page.

If you would like to make these cards self checking, you can mark the correct answer on the reverse of the card with a pen or a small sticker. If required, the cards can then be laminated for durability.

Set out the cards with pegs for students to clip to the correct answer. Students will look at the picture shown on the barn, and decide if the word for the picture should be spelt with AI or AY.

All words in this resource follow the common spelling pattern, with AI in the middle of the word and AY at the end.
