Sustain/Education Learning Module
The Sustain/Ed Learning Module is an educational package which augments the KS2 curriculum in the UK, offering activities which reinforce awareness of sustainability and climate action while maintaining core learning outcomes.

Chapter 3: People and Power
In this chapter, students will learn about the history of how humans have used of energy. We compare how energy was used centuries ago and how we use it today, and think about how it has changed our society. Students will then think about the importance of access to power.

Targets:

  • Students will explore how humans have used energy to alter/improve their living conditions

  • Students meet the Industrial Revolution and discover its significance

  • Students investigate how we use electricity today

  • Students build electricity grids and brainstorm how to get electricity to communities using maps
