Lesson 5 of 12 that links to the English Reformation, beginning with Martin Luther and documenting the changes under the various Tudor monarchs.

This lesson examines the causes, events and consequences of the Dissolution of the Monasteries.

Students will examine:

  • the causes of the dissolution
  • the main events, including the Valor Ecclesiasticus with an inference question linked to this
  • the consequences of the dissolution

There are three examination questions:

  • inference
  • describe two features
  • write a narrative account analysing.

There are guides to answering these question included.

This is part of a series of lessons that aims to encompass the new 9-1 GCSE skills into Key Stage 3.

Lessons are colourful and engaging and match the content of the new Exploring History textbook from Pearson, although the textbook is not necessary for any of the tasks.
