This Primary School Assembly is suitable for the whole Primary age range but is specifically aimed at 5-9 age groups. It was written to support the Changes theme from the SEAL Materials but is suitable to fit with other general assembly themes about changes, feelings of being lost and the need to keep safe.
It explores how experiences such as “getting lost” make us and those around us change, and how it helps us to see things from other people’s perspectives. In this story the Hummingbird becomes distracted and becomes separated from his parents. It explores the feelings associated with feeling “lost”. The Hummingbird at the end of the story has become a little wiser
