This comprehensive English unit (lasting 3/4 weeks), based on The Snow Dragon by Vivian French, contains everything you will need to teach this book to children in year 3 and 4. I have used it several times in school, each time updating, improving the structure and adding more resources. It includes a learning journey, possible weekly lesson plans, a PowerPoint and differentiated resources for every step of the learning journey. The PowerPoint follows the learning journey, with each session focused on learning objectives from the Hampshire reading and writing phase assessments. A chunk of the PowerPoint focuses on the possessive apostrophe and provides a good opportunity for AFL, whereby I found it useful to have the children initially seated using whiteboards and pens, so they could give an instant response.
