UKS2 Literacy - Jackie Robinson Reading Comprehension

A reading comprehension activity about the life of baseball superstar Jackie Robinson who broke down race divisions in baseball- the text revolves around the key parts of his life, and concludes with comprehension and grammar questions. It also contains an extension activity for fast-finishing students. Ideal for students learning about the American CIvil Rights Movement and Jackie Robinson between the ages of 9-13.

Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of the document.

Time allowance ( one hour)
5 minutes - read through the text individually.
40 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity)
15 minutes - Teacher and students go through the text and answers.
