UKS2 Literacy - Non-Fiction Reading Comprehension Activity Book (10 Activities)

This book is designed to help students work on their comprehension skills independently, whilst adding to their grammar knowledge and creative writing. Activities are aimed at students between the ages of 9-13.

Each activity has a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have an extension activity for those fast finishers.

If you would like an example of the type of activity this is please look at my FREE example Macbeth Activity.

Each of our Activity Books comes with 10 reading comprehension activities.

**This book contains the following reading comprehension activities:
1 – Mount Everest
2 – Children of the Industrial Revolution
3 – Roswell
4 – William Shakespeare’s Macbeth
5 – The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade
6 – The Great Plague
7 – Martin Luther King Jnr
8 – Abraham Lincoln
9 – Ancient Olympic Games
10 – Mars – The Red Planet

Answers, for teacher use, are on the final pages of the document.

Time allowance ( one hour) for each activity:
5 minutes - read through the text individually.
40 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity)
15 minutes - Teacher and students go through the text and answers.

Also, if you liked the activity why not look at one of our other Reading Comprehension Activity Books:
