The Whole Class Feedback Sheet (Year 7 example, but can be used with or adapted for other year groups) is an effective tool to support reflection, address misconceptions and improve writing. It saves teacher time while keeping feedback effective, purposeful, engaging and easy to implement. Suitable for KS3 and KS4.

How it works:
Activity 1 – Correct the errors!
Teacher instruction: Select a few common mistakes from the class’s work. Students correct them and reflect on how to avoid repeating them.

Activity 2 – A fantastic sentence!
Teacher instruction: Share a strong example from student work. Learners analyse what makes it effective, linking their observations to the success criteria (e.g. the CROISSANTED acronym) and discuss how they could apply similar strategies in their own writing.

Activity 3 – Write your own great sentence!
Teacher instruction: Ask students to create an improved sentence using the feedback. They then explain why it is effective, reinforcing self-awareness and independence.

This structured approach encourages analysis, correction and creativity – helping learners make progress while keeping feedback manageable for teachers.

Available in Word format.
