I have found specification checklists a very useful way of enabling my students to self-evaluate their knowledge of A-level Chemistry over a number of years.

I have produced one for the WJEC exam board containing the learning objectives for units 1-4 of the A-level syllabus (A2 Unit 5 Practical has been omitted). Students highlight the boxes to show how confident they feel with each topic using a traffic-light system, and keep re-visiting it over time to hopefully show progress as understanding improves. I have also found it really useful as a tutor to ensure the weak areas have the most focus, but also over time to make sure all topics are covered for each tutee.

I have taken care to ensure the objectives from the syllabus are accurate, but cannot guarantee that it is 100% error free.
