This is a maths investigation for KS2. They will need to find the smallest number they can make with 4 digits, and then the biggest number. Then all of the numbers in between in ascending order. They will need to be able to order and compare numbers, know their place value and then work systematically to find all of the combinations of numbers. This has worked well with a Year 4 class I tried it on. Includes recording sheet and challenge cards to ensure mastery.

I used this for an observation today. It went really well and the children loved it. Thank you :-)
