This low-resource science lesson focuses on the Year 5 National Curriculum Science objective on water resistance and gives children practice planning their own investigations.

The practical lesson only requires resources that will already be in your classroom or are very easily sourced - plasticine/blue tack, clear plastic cups.

The resources include a structured investigation planner sheet for children who need more support with planning their own investigations.

Due to the lesson needing very few resources, it could also be sent home to families who are self-isolating.

The resources are fully editable and there is lots of scope to easily tweak the content to focus on a range of different Working Scientifically objectives.

This is the fourth in a set of six lessons covering the Year 5 Forces topic (the whole unit can also be downloaded as a bundle from my shop for a much-reduced rate).
