Fun lesson plan where students get in small groups to create a piece of creative writing using some prompt cards (a set of random images, not included here) which they pick from an envelop. All teams have to follow a number of steps listed in this presentation in order to make sure they include certain grammatical requirements in each paragraph and they pass their story around to the other groups who then are asked to mark the previous paragraph and add up more details to the story using a pen of a different colour. I also gave each team paper in a specific colour to write or you could ask each team to write the team name on the sheet if you choose to use white paper for all. I have done this lesson with a top set Year 8 and it worked really well. They had a lot of fun and it helped them with develop their writing and team work skills. Really easy to adapt to other year groups and abilities by changing grammar required and giving a different set of cards
Booklet with a list of QUESTIONS for pupils to complete independently after covering all the modules in preparation for their oral exam at the end of Year 1 or for AS. Speaking mat with key vocabulary to describe people in images (Spanish mostly, no English) so it is great for high ability classes and suitable for lower pathways with a bit of training/additional support. Ideal for KS3 and KS4.
Compilation of 40 role play cards with different useful scenarios for students to practice this part of their speaking exam. There are cards for both the FOUNDATION (green) and HIGHER (yellow) TIERS. Each card comes with a list of words which is key vocabulary they are expected to use during the role play or simply useful hints for them to have an idea of the direction which the interaction will take.
A set of prompt cards to encourage pupils both to ask and answer questions on basic topics. Great to recap topics, promote spontaneity and develop fluency. Cards are colour coded to differentiate and there is a set of cards with prompt instructions in Spanish and another set of cards with instructions in English to stretch and challenge. There is a slide with question words both in Spanish and in English for low ability groups. It supports topics covered in Viva 1. I have used it with several year 7 classes and even with year 8 and it really helped them with progress.
