The Mad King is coming. He has been laying waste to all of the villages as he attacks them. Plundering each village in turn, burning their crops and killing all who oppose him. You have heard that your village is next. He has sent a spy to your village to uncover how many soldiers live there and what defenses the village has. Can your class stop him. This is a CSI themed Math Mystery. This activity will engage students by taking them on a journey to solve problems and puzzles. Students narrow down the suspects by completing the activities and marking them off from the suspect list until one person is left. The problems in this math mystery focus on Grade Four an Five “Operations & Algebraic Thinking” and “Number & Operations in Base Ten”. This case includes Clue 1: Division problems up to 12 Clue 2: Addition of 4-digit numbers with regrouping. Clue 3: Multiplication up to 12 Clue 4: Recall of basic facts addition and subtraction Clue 5: More Division Problems. Answer sheets are included
