Maths, English, Science and Food Technology - This fun-packed project will involve your reception or Year 1 class in fun activities. Some of the skills involved include estimating, measuring, investigating, designing, describing. Some tasks lend themselves particularly to group work. A 6-page document with suggestions for use and differentiation is also included. Talk about pasta and their shapes, use them to measure items, experiment with pasta in various ways, design your own, create a bar chart, make a pasta monster and write about it. A differentiated quiz with 45 fact-packed questions for 50 points. This activity is based on the topics of arts, history and politics, geography, food and drink, travel and tourism in France. Three levels of differentiation with answer sheets! It is advised that learners should use an electronic device, e.g. computer, notebook or at least a mobile phone in order to research their answers. The two answer sheets differ only in that one is in English and the other in French. All questions are the same at all levels on all 3 question sheets, though one English version has the number of points to be gained written into each section and into answer boxes if more than 1 point to help learners. The medium version is all in English with no hints for amount of points. The harder version is all in French, no hints of points and comes with its own French answer sheet. Each page features 3 bunting triangles to print and cut out. I would suggest you hang the bunting in numerical order. The numbers are color-coded to help students make comparisons and draw conclusions on the numerical system. Print on card or on paper and laminate. If like me you like a no-fuss assembly, punch each triangle at the top with a 2-hole punch, pull a string/ribbon through the holes front to back and to the front again.
