This lesson links with ICT, Numeracy and public speaking as well as English. It is on thr topic of sports but gives learners a more critical insight.
They will take part in a discussion, a research activity, presenting activity, create a survey, construct a pie chart, summarise the pie chart and then make a persuasive leaflet on a weird sport of their choice.

The lesson covers reading, basic vocabulary, parts of speech, t provides some information for students to use during speaking preparation as for IGCSE Speaking healthy eating, junk food and convenience foods are desired topics.
This lesson includes a discussion at the beginning, it followed by a short reading with some questions to check the text is understood. There is a vocabulary brainstorm activity; then based on the reading students can construct a persuasive leaflet about Face yoga in their community. This is good to allow learners to work in groups, to collaborate and share ideas. It helps learners gain knowledge about an obscure topic and also to develop their health and well - being. This would be good for learners to apply who have previously studied persuasive writing techniques. All in all Speaking, reading and writing are the skills that will be enhanced in this lesson. It is designed for IGCSE second language core or extended, as well as Key stage 2, it may also be used in PSHE or Health and Social care.

It focuses on simple, compound and complex sentences, the material should last 1-2 lessons, there are a range of pair work activities, group work activities, opportunity for students to write on the board, there is a role - play and peer assessment. The students have examples and a quick assessment quiz also.
This game is excellent for any age to improve listening and spelling. There are a sheet of letters which need to be copied and laminated each student will receive about 55 letters and work in a group or with another person. The teacher calls out the word and the students have to spell the word using the letters on their desk then call out if they are first t finish. It is so competitive and mostly used in English/EAL and ESL but can be used even as a warmer to review key words in any subject. There are some recommended words form easy to hard but of course the list is endless. All students enjoy this because it is hands on and interactive.

Everything is straightforward and easy to follow. God for reviewing adverbs and simple sentence development. Students enjoy the movement and hand-on element.
This activity can be used as a basic literacy task for ESL learners or key stage 2-4. The students have to correct the text, if time allows the teacher can get the students to create a vlog with the information. If teacher has resources and extra time this can work as a great extra curricular project with food technology, drama, media studies, ICT and health sciences. The teacher can bring in the food and students can use it as a prop to make vlog. Students love this because nowadys many aspire to be you tubers. It meets literacy, communication, and citizenship objectives.
