Example Q2 and Q3 answers (questions included from a past paper) for the CIE IGCSE French Writing Paper. The sheet shows how marks are awarded for the answers. Translation exercises follow (Eng - Fre and Fre - Eng) using phrases from the example answers. Designed to help expand vocabulary and give an immediate opportunity to adapt the new/less familiar phrases into a new sentence. Intended as final/later revision once familiar and comfortable with writing answers to these questions.

An odd-one-out, free-time speaking activity using photos. The aim of the main activity is for students to describe what there is in a photo, to develop their ideas and to make comparisons. The PowerPoint includes differentiated versions for Higher and Foundation Tier, a follow-up activity to help students reflect on their own learning/revision and example sentences for students to take away ideas. Can be used as an introduction to the AQA or Edexcel GCSE Speaking Photo/Picture Card as it encourages description of a photo - the first bullet point of each specification (¿qué hay en la foto?/la descripción de la foto).

A GCSE Spanish homework with translation and writing exercises. Students have to adapt model phrases for the translation and writing to produce their own text for a tourist leaflet. A follow-on activity could be to design and create the whole leaflet, including a corrected version of the text.
