Three sessions including a reflection on the term (target setting disguised as a Christmas activity!), the history of a Victorian Christmas and a 50 question quiz

A reflection session on students efforts so far, a look at a Christmas recipe and New Year’s resolutions all linked to their learning followed by a bumper Christmas quiz unique to their year group.

150 slides which a Year 6 teacher can deliver to their form group. Divided into sessions, the PowerPoint initally covers top worries before exploring the skills and qualities students will need to develop to ‘be the best me’ at their new school.

A series of tutor times which focus on four areas of reengaging students with the school community. Self Belief Hope Re-Connecting Gratitude Activities and video clips as well as exploring aspects of mental health.

The Six Rs of revision (RAG, Red, Revise, Review, Repeat, Rest) show the process of how to revise. This works well as either a focused week of year eleven and thirteen assemblies or a cycle of 5 x 20 minute sessions over lesson 1 & 2 (have groups of 15 students split across the year and rotate them across 5 different sessions (we had two of the same session running at once). It gives a structure to their revision and at the same time, keeps it simple as they have enough to learn already. There is an introductory assembly at the start.
