Edexcel CC3c Isotopes. This presentation introduces isotopes and how chemical properties are the same but physical properties are different based on electronic structure. It also takes higher students through calculations on using relative abundance of isotopes to work out relative atomic mass. 2 differentiated worksheets are included.

Edexcel CC3b Ar and Mr calculations. This presentation introduces the mass number and atomic number and allows students to practice calculating the number of protons, electrons and neutrons from these numbers. With the higher students if time allows you can introduce the relative atomic mass and relative formula mass also.These are 2 differentiated worksheets to go with this lesson included.

Edexcel CC3 Chemistry Atomic Structure. This is the first in a series of 3 lessons following CC3 from Edexcel. 2 differentiated worksheets are included with this presentation. This presentation takes a brief look through how the idea of an atom developed over time and uses The Atoms Family ( a set of 3 cartoons I drew to represent the proton, electron and neutron) and helps students remember the properties of each subatomic particle. Penny the proton is positive, Ned the neutron is neutral and Elvis the electron is nEgative ( alliteration!)

Edexcel CC10 revision of electrolysis. This has a differentiated starter to cover the main points of electrolysis. It then has graded questions for the student to work through. This works well at the end of teaching this topic or as part of exam revision.

Edexcel CC10b products from electrolysis. This presentation guides students through predicting the products of electrolysis firstly with molten ionic salts, then with aqueous ionic salts and finally it gives a few examples that are unusual eg purification of copper and electrolysis of sodium sulfate. there are 3 differentiated worksheets included with this.

Edexcel CC10a Electrolysis of Copper Sulphate. This presentation gives students some background knowledge of the procedure, steps to carry out the procedure adn then some questions to ask in the analysis of their results. There is also a slide that summarises the key pints that can be printed off, laminated and put on display.

Edexcel CC10a Electrolysis. This presentation explores the apparatus sued in electrolysis and the terminology used. It explains why solid ionic substances can not conduct electricity and then takes higher students through the skill of writing half equations and using OILRIG to work out reduction and oxidation. IT also includes 3 differentiated worksheets.

This is a resource I printed in colour, laminated back to back and hole punched one side. I then placed them on students tables to allow them to look at during lessons in order to know how they could progress to the next level.

This is a light hearted look at achieving a healthy work life balance in that first year of teaching or in that training year. It is somethign I use when meeting my new ITE trainees for the first time and I will visit it half way through their placements so that they dont get too bogged down and despondant!

This needs laminating back to back and hole punching at one end. It then present s the students with a simple flip book that shows all the key higher order thinking ( HOT) words linked to Blooms for students to challenge themselves and understand how to get to the next level in their work. I put a few on each table each lesson so that students got used to using them.
