Created as part of a Literacy unit on 'Aquila' by Andrew Norriss. We looked at the features of explanation texts then children wrote their own explanation of how to operate a UFO. I have included two different templates for different ability children. Once complete, these made lovely pieces of display work. I have used this as a Literacy Starter in Year 3. I cut up the different parts of sentences and gave them out. Each child had to find a partner who would complete their sentence. You could also use this as a main activity for Lower Ability children.
